Large group Accommodation for All
Perfect for large group gatherings, Hamps Hall & Barn is a lovely property located South of the Peak District National Park, UK’s first National Park. Surround yourself with natural beauty and enjoy easy access to the Manifold Valley, Dovedale, Ashbourne, and Buxton.
If you’re travelling with the little ones, wait until you see their excitement when they find out that Alton Towers is only 6 miles away. Why not plan a rejuvenating holiday and spend some quality time with your loved ones?
This property consists of a Hall side and a Barn side and they are connected. This works really well for combined hen/stag parties and weddings as you can embrace tradition and have the girls and boys staying separately.
Reception Rooms
Walk in to immediately notice the retained original features like exposed beams carefully combined with up-to-date technology to make sure guests have a smooth and comfortable stay. Hamps Barn features the main reception room which is 50-feet long which with beams and trusses on display. Here you will find ample space for all guests to come together for parties, dancing, or even relaxing or socialising. It comes with a robust oak flooring and comfy leather sofas (sorry these can’t be moved).
There is a further living room in Hamps Hall. This is the ideal spot for guests who fancy some peace and quiet away from the main event. Select an interesting book from the mini library or start a gaming tournament in the Xbox snug room made for kids both young and old. Additionally, both function rooms come with TVs and DVD players too.
Please note, external speakers are not allowed at Hamps, but we have our own fantastic set up to be able to plug into for DJ’s.
Kitchen & Dining
Make use of the two fitted kitchens to prepare your favourite meals. These fully-equipped kitchens come with granite work surfaces, 4 hobs each, 2 double ovens, and large fridge/freezers. In Hamps Hall there is a also a full size wine fridge so you can put all your drinks away together. Cooking will really be a treat in these kitchens. If you would rather hire a caterer, we work with some fantastic suppliers would take care of your meals from scratch.
The Hamps Hall & Barn dining room provides guests with the perfect environment to come together and enjoy chit-chatting during meals. The main dining room can comfortably accommodate up to 64 guests around 8 tables. Please inform us in advance for more guests as the dining room is usually laid out for 48 guests around 6 tables.
There is a second dining room in Hamps Hall that can seat 20 guests.
Bedrooms
40 guests can sleep overnight spread across 18 cosy bedrooms (6 doubles, 9 twins, 1 quad & 2 triples). Each of these bedrooms comes with bed linens (cot linen not included), towels, and central heating so do not worry about the winter months! The flooring varies from thick carpet or sturdy oak flooring. To further your comfort, our thick duvets will lure you to bed. Wake up to calming views of the stunning Peak District countryside while you sip on your morning coffee. There are also 12 recently renovated bath/shower rooms with an abundance of hot water.
Hamps Hall & Barn is an accessible-friendly property. There is a disabled access wet room on the ground floor which is also equipped with handrails. Furthermore, 4 of the 18 bedrooms are situated on the ground floor with 3 further bathrooms. Normal sized wheelchairs can fit through doors but extra wide wheelchairs cannot pass into the dining room. The doorways leading into the main dining room are 60 cm wide.
Entertainment & Outdoors
Play in the games room with a full-sized table tennis table and table football while bonding with your loved ones. Or make use of the cosy Xbox snug (to the left). If you feel like relaxing, pick a book from the mini library and start reading it in the spacious gardens. Hamps Hall & Barn also comes with free WiFi.
This stunning Peak District property will provide you with the perfect rural countryside retreat. It comes with two lovely gardens, each perfect for a BBQ when the sun is out. During the summer months, host an alfresco party with delicious food and drinks. Additionally there is a field you can use for activities next door.
Hot Tubs
We have 2 x five person hot tubs at Hamps Barn. These are situated in the our lovely back garden by Hamps Barn, so you can relax with your loved ones with fairy lights around in lovely warm bubbles.
Please note: If there is a guest staying the night before, the time to drain, re-fill and re-heat means it will take some extra hours after your arrival time that it is fully heated. The weather also has a large impact on this. This could be up to 23:00 at night on check in day. The maximum temperature the hot tub reaches is 38 degrees and will automatically stay at this level once reached (we/ you will not be able to change from this temperature). Unfortunately we can not control the time it takes to heat up to speed this up. We are afraid that also children under 5 years old are not allowed in the hot tub.
Extra Guests? No problem!
Merrymeet is a nearby converted barn made out of traditional stone sleeping 16 guests. Located just a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk away, this extra accommodation is perfectly suited for special events and big celebrations.
This pet-friendly venue hire comes with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The large reception room comes with big chesterfield leather sofas perfect for relaxing. Those seeking entertainment will be happy to know that Merrymeet comes with a games room featuring table tennis, table football, and Xbox 360 games console. Your private gardens come with a BBQ and garden furniture.
As this is a self-catering accommodation the kitchen comes fully equipped with granite countertops and there’s also a big dining room for 16 people.
