Activities
With stunning landscapes, fun walking, hiking, and biking routes, and some lovely local pubs and restaurants, there’s nothing not to love about the Peak District!
On-site Activities
There are so many activities to enjoy at Hamps Hall and Barn! Our self-catered accommodation comes with no corkage fees, meaning you can stay at the venue at an exceptional price, and enjoy 3-course meals catered to you by a local chef (ie. Petitjeans Catering, Thornbirds Hospitality, or Food by Anthony) or even organising a cocktail masterclass! If you prefer cooking for yourself, you’ll have 2 fully-equipped kitchens and 2 BBQs which you can take advantage of.
Many guests have made use of a well-renowned party planning compan, My Event Concierge. The company helps to organise various caterers and/or activities such as target sports like clay pigeon shooting, archery, and axe throwing, or other options like spa treatments, chocolate and cocktail making, live drawing, dance and yoga classes and much more. For more information, contact My Event Concierge. We also have a private field you can use for any activities you organise, but please warn us so we can have it cut.
If you’re planning a celebration, you may want to hire a marquee, or a photographer (Simon Atkins, Paul Jarrett, or Lisa Wildgoose) or perhaps you’d like to have a keg of ale waiting for you upon your arrival? Make your stay unforgettable by organising an escape event, casino night or a murder mystery party!
Off-site Activities
The active ones in your group may be excited to visit the nearby Madrenaline Activity Centre, the Alton Towers Theme Park, or go for a treasure hunt. In the warmer months, pay a visit to the Tittesworth Reservoir Activity Centre which offers numerous water sports including canoeing, paddle-boarding, windsurfing, sailing, and more. For motosports and water activities reach out to HDK Events. While there are plenty of walks right at your front door, you can visit the Ilam Park Dovedale & the White Peak for more beautiful scenery. The Peak District really has it all!
If you’re visiting with children, pay a visit to the Peak Wildlife Park which specialises in birds and small cute mammals, visit the Thor Cave (you can skip going inside the cave and just enjoy the spectacular views) or skip stones at the Dovedale Stepping Stones. For a bit of history, visit the to Churnet Valley Railway for a 2 hour round trip on the steam train and some good food.
